Position: Executive Director Location: Manitou Springs, Colorado (not remote)

Time: Full-Time Reports To: Board of Directors

Overview: The Manitou Springs Chamber of Commerce, Visitors Bureau & Office of Economic Development (Visit Manitou Springs) seeks a strategic, organized, and community-focused Executive Director. This individual will be integral in guiding the Visit Manitou Springs mission to foster economic growth, enhance community engagement, and promote sustainable tourism and business practices in Manitou Springs. The Executive Director will oversee daily operations and events, manage meetings, and coordinate with local businesses and community stakeholders to drive initiatives that benefit the local economy and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership and Strategy:

• Collaborate with the Board of Directors to develop and execute a strategic vision for Visit Manitou Springs, focusing on economic growth, sustainable tourism, and community engagement.

• Advocate on behalf of Visit Manitou Springs members with policymakers and stakeholders.

• Represent Visit Manitou Springs at local, regional, and national events to foster partnerships and align initiatives.

• Identify, secure, and manage funding and partnership opportunities for long-term organizational sustainability.

Governance and Board Relations:

• Work with the Board President to prepare meeting agendas and facilitate monthly meetings.

• Arrange and attend all Board and Visit Manitou Springs related meetings, overseeing meeting space logistics.

• Maintain accurate Board records and share key performance metrics, including visitor statistics, to inform decision-making.

• Collaborate with the Board to prepare an Annual Report detailing budgets, expenditures, achievements, and upcoming projects.

Operational Management:

• Oversee all administrative functions, including staff interviewing, onboarding, performance evaluations, and maintaining personnel records.

• Prepare and manage the annual budget, ensuring financial accuracy and expense tracking.

• Maintain and update the Operations Manual to streamline processes and ensure continuity.

• Apply for and manage grant opportunities, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements.

• Oversee programs such as the Manitou Money Program and manage insurance policies including general liability, flood, event, health, and disability.

Visit Manitou Springs Membership:

• Build and maintain strong relationships with Visit Manitou Springs members, providing support through regular meetings and communications.

• Maintain accurate membership records and engage with prospective members to promote Visit Manitou Springs benefits.

• Support members in developing new promotions, initiatives, and ideas to enhance their businesses.

• Coordinate with the Bookkeeper to manage membership payments and address overdue accounts.

Community and Stakeholder Engagement:

• Act as the primary liaison with the City Administrator, City Council, and local businesses to address community concerns and foster collaboration.

• Lead the Visit Manitou Springs Marketing Task Force, setting promotional goals and strategies.

• Attend and represent Visit Manitou Springs at key meetings, including the PPRAA Board, CRANE Board, City Council meetings, and others as needed.

• Schedule and lead community and membership meetings aligned with the Visit Manitou Springs calendar.

• Represent Visit Manitou Springs at local, regional, and national tourism events and with partners including Visit Colorado Springs, Tour Colorado, Colorado Association of Destination Marketing Organizations (CADMO), Colorado Chamber Alliance, Southern Colorado Business Partnership, and the Governor’s Conference on Tourism.

Visitor Information & Office Support

Support the Visitor Information Center operations and ensure smooth daily office functions.

Respond to general inquiries and assist with office administration tasks as needed.

Manage relationships with the alarm company and Police Department for office security.

Skills and Experience:

• Minimum of three years in operations, business management, nonprofit management, or a related field.

• At least one year of experience in public relations, stakeholder engagement, or communications.

• Experience working with city government staff, council members, or other elected officials.

• Demonstrated experience collaborating with businesses, nonprofit organizations, and business communities, including providing information, coordinating meetings and events, and leading collaborative projects.

• Strong project management, event planning, and organizational skills.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and any relevant CRM or financial software.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and the ability to build positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.

• Familiarity with Manitou Springs, the surrounding region, or similar tourist-driven communities is a plus, along with knowledge of economic development and tourism best practices (preferred but not required).

• A valid Driver’s License is required.

• College Degree preferred.

Physical Requirements: The following physical abilities are typically utilized for this position:

Vision: Ability to read, interpret, and create correspondence and graphic designs.

Speech/Hearing: Ability to communicate verbally and in writing with staff, volunteers, members, and vendors.

As a member of the Cog Railway Team, this position will research, prospect, develop and contract groups of 25+ people for The Broadmoor Manitou & Pikes Peak Cog Railway and The Broadmoor Seven Falls. Responsibilities will include making sales calls, qualifying leads, developing proposals, site inspections, contracting and definite booking turnover to the reservations managers. This position will work with existing accounts to maintain good relationships, develop referrals and will prospect to generate new leads and business.

What you will be doing:

  • Research, prospect and develop leads regarding group reservations and logistical requirements of the group and issue a proposal within 24 hours of developing a viable lead
  • Demonstrate ability to make efficient and effective decisions in fast-paced environments.

  • Ability to greet and direct large groups from busses to the train

  • Become familiar with RocketRez ticketing and reservation system to understand availability for groups for both operations;
  • Have a working knowledge of available items to upsell to maximize Cog Railway and Seven Falls revenue, including retail, food and beverage and transportation options;
  • Work with Broadmoor sales team to develop relationships with resort groups and provide the Cog Railway and Seven Falls as recreational options to the group while on site;
  • Solicit other hotel and resorts in the area to offer the Cog Railway and Seven Falls group options to their group guests;
  • Attend local events and tradeshows as assigned to develop new business opportunities;
  • Attend all departmental meetings and activities, including Broadmoor sales teams meetings.

The EMT Lead is responsible for completing and managing tasks as assigned by the Assistant Operations Manager, which support Pikes Peak and fulfills contract obligations, assisting with guest needs, and resolving or escalating any guest concerns or issues. May also be responsible for oversight or delegation of responsibilities within the guest services operation. Reports directly to the Assistant Operations Manager.

Compensation Data

The hourly rate for this position ranges from $20.00 to $20.25, depending on circumstances including an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and certifications, prior job experience, market data, and other relevant factors. Additional compensation may include a bonus or commission (if relevant). This is Aramark’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of compensation for this position as of the time of posting.

If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and Aramark reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time AND FOR ANY REASON, including, BUT NOT LIMITED TO for reasons related to individual performance, Aramark or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Job Responsibilities

•    Assist with schedules and assigns daily work assignments and oversees completion of tasks
•    Ensure compliance with HIPPA requirements for EMT Department
•    Trains and guides EMT staff on job duties, customer service, systems, and procedures
•    Greet and provide customer service to guests while anticipating their needs
•    Assist with timely daily and quarterly reports to General Manager and Operations Manager
•    Assist with staff retention
•    Delegating tasks to appropriate associates
•    Overseeing EMT stock and ordering supplies, tracking, and reporting of weekly inventory
•    Collecting and analyzing any available feedback from patients’ gauge satisfaction and success
•    Participates in Quality Assurance Programs and reviews to address areas in need of improvement

Qualifications

•    Supervisory experience in a related role preferred
•    Previous EMT experience required
•    Previous guest services experience required
•    Demonstrates excellent customer service skills
•    Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
•    Demonstrate organization skills, accuracy, and attention to detail
•    NREMT and Colorado State Certification required
This role may have physical demands including, but not limited to, lifting, bending, pushing, pulling and/or extended walking and standing. This role may also require uniforms and/or usage of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

Grounds and Maintenance Manager

Our stables is seeking a highly-motivated Grounds and Maintenance Manager with a strong attention to detail. Duties would range from electrical, plumbing, mechanical, irrigation, carpentry and general fix-it knowledge. Applicant must have a strong working knowledge of vehicle maintenance and must know how to work and operate large ranch machinery such as tractors (specifically on hill-like terrain and able to use the tractor to load and unload hay.) The Applicant must be organized and capable of keeping good maintenance records. Both part-time and full-time positions are available with retirement benefits once applicant achieves eligibility. Lodging on site is also offered as a potential part of the offer package for the right candidate. Pay will be based upon experience and the applicant must be able to pass a criminal background check and a drug test.
Responsibilities:

Repair major and minor issues with equipment and buildings throughout stables • Complete maintenance and repair work orders, in a timely fashion • Order and replace broken parts or equipment • Maintain machinery on site • Ability to operate a large tractor to load and unload hay • Maintain a clean and a safe work space • Perform other duties, as assigned
Qualifications:

Previous experience in maintenance or other related fields • Familiarity with hand-held tools and equipment • Deadline and detail-oriented • Ability to handle physical workload • Equine experience a plus but not required

Campus Grounds Caretaker

20-30 hours a week

The Campus Grounds Caretaker has the responsibility of maintaining the property in such a way to support operations, promote the museum’s mission and to improve the museum as a whole.  As the daily grounds keeper, the Maintenance Lead carries the primary role of creating and improving the visual image of WMMI, the museum’s “curb appeal”!

Rental & Venue Coordinator

18-30 hours a week and may flex to 40 hours per week for events

The Rental & Venue Coordinator’s primary responsibilities include the sale and coordination of our campus’ unique rental venues and the operation of the ranch tours.  This position has great potential for personal contribution and professional growth!

What will you do in this job?

Supervise and lead all rentals within our collaborative team.

Create event space layouts and execute full set up & take-down/cleaning.

Communicate ongoing changes to staff and volunteers.

Field inquiries in a timely manner and conduct venue tours for potential clients.

Proactively engage in follow up discussions with interested parties.

Assist with marketing WMMI rental venues via multiple methods.

Attend various networking and community events to attract customers.

Report and correct potential safety and maintenance issues.

Prepare rental agreements and handle payments according to SOP.

Engage with and monitor annual outdoor events organizers/renters.

Keep the internal rental and event calendar current and accurate.

This position is part–time with a flexible schedule Mon – Sat. 8 am to 4 pm time window.  The hours per week average 18 – 30 and may flex over 40 hours per week for events, especially in the summer and fall seasons.  The pay range is $15-20 per hour with a possible commission structure.
