OUR TAKE

Do you love rodeos, cowboys and the spirit of the Wild West? Then the ProRodeo Hall of Fame and Museum of the American Cowboy is your next big thrill during your visit to the Pikes Peak region.

What you can do

Get into the details

The colorful history and equally colorful legends of professional rodeo come to life at the ProRodeo Hall of Fame and Museum of the American Cowboy, where visitors are greeted by the larger than life statue of The Champ, the legendary Casey Tibbs, aboard the famed saddle bronc, Necktie.

The rodeo holds a special place in the heart of American culture, inspiring songs, movies, books and art. Cowboys and cowgirls are equally treasured, due to their direct impact on the founding of the west and their tireless work to put food on tables at home and around the world.

The ProRodeo Hall of Fame is a celebration of all these things, telling their story — and the story of rodeo — in intricately detailed displays. Guests begin their tour in the Hall of Champions, which displays over 300 inductees, including rodeo contestants from bull riding, saddle bronc riding, bareback riding, team roping, steer wrestling, tie-down roping, and all-around and also stock contractors, clowns, rodeo notables, livestock, and rodeo committees.

For a deep dive into cowboy history, you can also examine displays featuring saddles, chaps, hats and other rodeo equipment, each showing the evolution of riding equipment throughout the years of horsemanship that has helped to found the United States.

When you’ve completed your tour, the gift shop is a treasure trove of western and Colorado-themed items that are perfect for fans of western wear, horses, cowboys and cowboy culture.

And for those looking for a way to celebrate a family reunion, host a wedding or plan any other sort of event while in Colorado (locals welcome, too), The ProRodeo Hall of Fame offers lovely event space with access to its beautiful outdoor gardens and fountains (weather permitting).

There’s no question that the rodeo and the history of the American cowboy are incredibly exciting. Come experience the fun for yourself at the ProRodeo Hall of Fame and the Museum of the American Cowboy.
