Pikes Peak Country offers wedding sites as comfortable as a pair of blue jeans or dressed to the nines for a formal event, all with the breath-taking Colorado Rocky Mountain as a backdrop. Imagine a wedding at the summit of the 14,110-foot Pikes Peak or surrounded by the striking red rocks of Garden of the Gods. Located just 60 miles south of Denver the Pikes Peak region has been a favorite destination for brides and grooms for over 100 years. As weddings become more creative, Pikes Peak Country's attractions are opening their doors for rehearsal dinners, wedding ceremonies and receptions. Outdoor Settings  

Cheyenne Mountain Zoo is available for wedding ceremonies and receptions! There are several locations available for your special day including the Primate World, Columbus Cafe and the Kids Canyon area. For more information on locations and prices, please call Carol Overbeck at 719-575-0536.
 

Garden of the Gods is a striking backdrop for ceremonies. Popular locations are the Central Garden area, the J.C. Plaza at the foot of Kissing Camels and the Three Graces/Cathedral Spires area at the western side of the Central Garden walkway. Arrangements are made on a first come first serve basis by calling 719-385-5941. No restrictions are placed on the use of the Park by other visitors, this often means that events are attended by the public.

Garden of the Gods Trading Post, The Peak View Conference & Reception Center, adjacent to the Garden of the Gods Trading Post, offers over 2,400 square feet of space with a private patio and spectacular views of Pikes Peak. The tiered patio area can accommodate wedding ceremonies of 70 guests. Receptions of 120 guests are easily accommodated. Bar service and catering are available. Royal Gorge Bridge and Park invites you to consider a spectacular outdoor wedding at one of the world's most renowned natural wonders, The Royal Gorge Bridge & Park. The park offers truly unique locations for weddings and receptions. Each has it's own special feeling and can be customized to fit your expectations. The park does have catering on site and a variety of dining and menu options through their many on-site food outlets. Specific areas have been set aside for large groups. Royal Gorge Route Railroad is an excellent choice for weddings, receptions and special events. Special charters are available where you can reserve the entire train for your special group. Delicious food is available for groups with advance reservations on the train as well as the Santa Fe Depot. There is a spacious patio with seating for 100. Seven Falls over the years many people have had their marriage ceremonies performed at Seven Falls located in beautiful South Cheyenne Canon. In this spectacular setting memories are made to last a lifetime. Seven Falls does not charge the bride, groom and minister and invited guests pay a special reduced rate. They can host a wedding party up to approximately 150 people, however, they do not have reception facilities. The two favorite spots for a wedding is at the base of the Seven Falls with the lower fall as a backdrop and at Eagle's Nest with all of the falls as a backdrop. Buckskin Joe Frontier Town & Railway has a variety of unique and scenic venues that are available for your wedding ceremony and reception; the historic log church, the Gold Nugget Restaurant and Silver Dollar Saloon, as well as several outdoor locations. Ghost Town Museum is truly a unique event location with the theme of the 1800s old west. The Ghost Town Museum is a complete turn-of-the-century town from our local "wild west" past. With 2,500 square feet of open floor space, the Ghost Town Museum offers spacious accommodations. Excellent for receptions, banquets and any casual private event. Small Intimate Weddings

Cave of the Winds Weddings at Cave of the Winds may not be a normal occurrence, but they can offer a unique and memorable place to exchange your vows. There are two different rooms in which wedding ceremonies are allowed. The first room is the Bridal Chamber, which will accommodate up to 15 people for a cost of $150.00. The second room is Canopy Hall, which will accommodate up to 25 people for a cost of $225.00. Wedding ceremonies may only be scheduled before or after our normal business hours. Manitou Cliff Dwellings can provide a unique and natural setting for your wedding or special event. Preserved under a protective red sandstone overhang, authentic Anasazi Cliff dwellings, built more than 700 years ago, await you. Miramont Castle was constructed in 1895 as a private home. Today, Miramont is a museum dedicated to preserving the Victorian heritage of Manitou Springs and the Pikes Peak region. The chapel and garden area are available and are excellent places for small wedding ceremonies. Receptions can also be accommodated. Transportation

Academy Riding Stables offers horse drawn carriage rides after your wedding ceremony. They can be drawn by either a matched team of black Morgan's, or a team of large Percheron draft horses. They offer a surrey that can carry six to nine people from a wedding party or a buggy that will carry just the bride and groom. For more information and prices, please call 719-633-5667.

 

Challenge Unlimited "Pikes Peak by Bike" will make your wedding day memories last long after your special day is over. The trip begins at the office where you are greeted, fit with helmets and fed breakfast by one of their enthusiastic bike guides. Once on the summit and after your vows, your journey as husband and wife begins as you bike down the 19-mile highway. The ride down takes two-and-a-half to three hours. Wedding Requirements

  • A marriage license must be obtained from the local county clerk where the marriage will be performed no more than 30 days prior to the marriage ceremony. The final marriage certificate must file in the county clerk's office within 60 days of the marriage ceremony.
  • Both the bride and groom must complete and sign the marriage application form. At least one of the parties must apply in person before the marriage clerk. If one of the parties cannot appear in person, he or she must complete an affidavit provided by our office with their signature notarized. A couple already married, who wish to renew their marriage vows, or those who have a common law marriage may obtain a license by station that they are married to each other. Applicants for a marriage license need no be Colorado residents.
  • The fee is $20.00 cash; checks are NOT accepted.
  • Age requirements: 18 years of age or over without parental consent, ages 16-17 require notarized consent from parents or legal guardians; age 15 and under require court approval with license.
  • Blood testing is not required in Colorado.
  • Proper identification must be furnished by both parties: Passport, Birth Certificate, Driver's License, Military I.D., etc.
