The Colorado Midland
"A Train Ride"
The museum welcomes Mel McFarland, author, artist and Colorado native. Mr. McFarland has written several books about railroads in the Pikes Peak region to include the Colorado Midland, the Midland Terminal and the Rock Island. Using period photographs, Mel will take you back in time for a ride on the Colorado Midland Railroad from one end of the state to the other. Delight in coffee and refreshments, then sit back and enjoy the ride.
Lecture Begins: 7:00 p.m.

Have you ever wondered how gold is transformed from rock into jewelry? The museum is offering a Gold Assay class to discuss the process of extracting gold from ore. Instruction by Brad Paulson. Due to the popularity of this class, there are two sessions available! These classes will fill fast so make your reservations soon.

Special Exhibit:
Please join the museum for a special exhibit of William Henry Jackson's images reproduced in "Steam and Steel Across The Great Divide". These magnificent prints are from the original glass plates kept by the Western History section of the Denver Public Library. Each will explore photography's multiple roles as art; promotion; and documentation of the Denver and Rio Grande Railroad.
This special exhibit is on display for a short time. Don't miss it!
