Lunch and A Look at the Garden

Tuesdays at Noon in March, April & May

Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center’s free educational lecture series continues this spring with a focus on Charles Elliot Perkins’ gift of Garden of the Gods Park to the City of Colorado Springs in 1909. Actors portraying various individuals of that time provide unique perspectives not only of the actual gift of the Park but of various popular sentiments regarding its use.

Each Tuesday at noon during March, April and May, a free half-hour presentation will be offered:

March 3 - Observations by Charles Perkins’ daughter, Alice about his children’s perspectives on this generous ‘gift’

March 10 - Photographs - 1909 to present - depicting changes in the landscape of the Garden

March 17 - Recollections by a military colleague of General Palmer regarding the relationship of our city founder with the Park

March 24 - “Garden People” - various nonconformists who had their own visions for the development of Garden of the Gods

Reservations are required, 719-219-0108. Following each presentation, participants are invited to stay for lunch in our café (at their own expense) to continue the conversation about the day’s topic.
