Labor Day Wild West Weekend and Rendezvous at the Royal Gorge Bridge & Park

Take a walk on the “wild west” side, and visit the Bell’s Fort Free Trappers and Muzzle Loaders 24th Annual Rendezvous Labor Day Weekend, Aug. 30 – September 1, on the South Rim of the Royal Gorge Bridge & Park, Canon City, Colo.

Participants in the Bell’s Fort Rendezvous present a living history for the public of the first pioneers in Colorado, referred to as Mountain Men with authentic pre-1840’s period dress, games, food, and “wares” to trade.

“Doc” and his trained saddle broke Texas Longhorn Steer, “Blizzard,” will patrol the Mountain Man Trading Post at the Royal Gorge Bridge & Park’s own historic replica mountain man town complete with gold panning, and a draft-mule drawn wagon ride for their guests. “Miss Kitty” will greet guests at the old time saloon for an opportunity to take an authentic wild west pictures of the family.

Labor Day park hours at the Royal Gorge Bridge & Park including Labor Day Monday are 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. General admission to the park includes the world’s highest suspension bridge, the world’s steepest Incline Railway, and the world’s longest single-span Aerial Tram. Horseback riding for a half hour trip, Ride the Rim, or a flight on the “world’s scariest” Royal Rush Skycoaster are extra pay features at the park.
