Colorado Tunneling Exhibit Reception

Colorado Springs, CO (7/3/08) – The Western Museum of Mining and Industry will hold an exhibit reception for its latest exhibit, Colorado Tunneling, on Thursday, August 7, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Museum. The exhibit features modern tunneling methods with photographs of transportation and water tunnels constructed throughout Colorado. Temporarily on loan from the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) is a scale model of the construction for the Eisenhower Tunnel. The Kiewit Construction Company is loaning a scale model of a state-of-the art tunnel-boring machine. The exhibit is organized by Dr. Raymond Henn of Lyman Henn, Inc. in Denver and will run through August 30, 2008. The reception is free and will include light appetizers, beverages, and music. Reservations are necessary by August 4. Customary admission applies to ongoing dates. Please call the Museum at (719) 488-0880.
Museum Hours: Monday-Saturday, 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Admission: $8 adults, $7 Military/AAA, $6 Seniors & Students, $4 Children 3-12, Free to Children under 3 & Museum Members.
Location: WMMI is off I-25 at the Gleneagle exit, #156A across from the north entrance to the United States Air Force Academy.
