Pikes Peak Attractions Association Goes The Extra Mile To Attract Visitors To Area

Manitou Springs, CO -- July 17, 2008--- Pikes Peak Country Attractions Associations, an organization that represents and markets over 20 major area attractions in Colorado Springs, Manitou Springs, Cripple Creek and Canon City, Colorado, is offering the traveling public special offers, discounts and coupons to help ease the financial pinch in today’s sluggish economy.

Special programs have been promoted to visitors via blast e-mails, and the reception to these offers has been overwhelming. Some of the offers have included a “DAY-CATION” to Colorado Springs, where visitors can purchase ONE ticket good for five people to see four participating attractions for $150, and receive a $20 gas card. Pikes Peak Country Attractions promoted this offer as a $30 per day per-person vacation value.

There are more values are being offered through www.Colorado.com (click on Attractions, then hit Vacation Values), the state’s tourism marketing website. Visitors to this site can order a FREE COUPON BOOK with offers to 20 of the areas attractions. PPCAA is tracking this campaign’s success by measuring the traffic to www.unconventionalcolorado.com, which is where people land in order to order the FREE coupon book, as well as a Visitor Guide to the region.

“Most of our visitors drive here, so because of high gasoline prices, these are tough times for travelers, especially family vacationers,” said Michele Carvell, Executive Director of Pikes Peak Country Attractions Association. “We feel it is our job to go that extra mile and give visitors any help we can during their visit to our region,” she said.

Pikes Peak Country Attractions has made money-saving coupons a prominent and easy to find feature on its website, www.Pikes-Peak.com. Coupons are also available on individual attractions’ websites. Coupons are also in the Official Visitor Guide, as well as the map Pikes Peak Country Attractions prints annually, a FREE publication that is also downloadable from www.Pikes-Peak.com.
